Who We Are, and Who Is Responsible for the Data

Kashcool (كشكول) is an online app that teachers use to run their groups, students, attendance and money, with a page for parents and a page for students.

• The teacher owns their students' data: they decide what is recorded and about whom, and they answer for it to students and parents. (In legal terms, the data controller.)
• Kashcool stores and shows that data for the teacher, on their behalf and only on their instructions. (In legal terms, the processor.)

What We Keep

• About a student: name, code, grade and group, the student's own mobile number if the teacher adds it, attendance, marks, exams and homework, what they have paid and what they owe, and any note the teacher writes.
• About a parent: name, mobile number, relation to the student, and the PIN they choose. The PIN is stored scrambled (hashed) and nobody can read it — not the teacher, not us.
• About the teacher and their assistants: name, username, mobile number, password (hashed), the subscription and payments to Kashcool, and a short description of the device they sign in from, so one account is not opened on many devices.
• Support messages with the files and pictures sent with them, and messages sent from "Can't sign in? Contact us" on the sign-in page (name, number and what happened).
• Pictures the teacher uploads, such as their own photo and booklet covers.
• The internet (IP) address behind repeated failed sign-ins, so we can stop someone guessing passwords.
• A usage log: which part of the app was used and when — without student names or phone numbers.
• An error log: when something breaks we record the details in our own database to fix it, and those details can include a student's name or a phone number.

Egyptian law treats children's data as sensitive, and most students are under 18. So we handle it with extra care: every teacher sees only their own data, and nobody sees anything that is not theirs to see.

What We Use It For

• So the teacher can run their work: attendance, money, marks and keeping parents informed.
• So a parent can follow their children's attendance, marks and fees, and a student can follow their own.
• So everyone signs in to their own account safely, and nobody gets into an account that is not theirs.
• To answer support requests, fix what breaks, and learn what needs improving.
• To bill the teacher for their subscription.

We do not use the data for anything else.

Who Can See the Data

• The teacher, and the assistants they add — each within the permissions the teacher gives them.
• A parent sees only their own children: attendance, marks and money.
• A student sees only their own record.
• The Kashcool team opens a teacher's data only with a reason — support the teacher asked for, a fault that must be fixed, or a security problem.

WhatsApp Messages

• The usual way: Kashcool prepares the message and opens WhatsApp on the teacher's phone, and the teacher presses Send. It travels like any other WhatsApp message.
• If the teacher connects their number to Meta's official WhatsApp Business service: Kashcool sends the message to Meta — for example a student's name with their attendance, mark or amount owed — and Meta delivers it to the parent from the teacher's number. Meta handles these messages under its own terms and privacy policy.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your data, rent it, or give it to anyone for advertising.
• There are no ads in Kashcool.
• No artificial intelligence reads student data today. If we switch on AI exam marking later, we will update this page first and say exactly what is sent, and to whom.
• Our cookies only keep you signed in and remember the language and look you chose. There are no advertising cookies.

How Long We Keep It

• As long as the teacher uses Kashcool, their data and their students' data stay.
• If the subscription ends or is paused, the data stays stored and locked, so the teacher finds their work as they left it when they return.
• Files uploaded but never sent with a message are deleted after 24 hours.

Your Rights

• To know what is recorded about you or your child, and to get a copy.
• To have wrong data corrected.
• To ask for your data to be deleted, or for its use for a particular purpose to stop.

If you are a parent or a student: the teacher owns the data, so start with them. If you cannot reach them or they do not answer, contact us and we will pass your request to the teacher and help them carry it out.

If you are a teacher: contact us directly and we will prepare a copy of your data or delete it.

Say that your message is a "privacy request" and give the teacher's name, so we can find your data quickly.

We will change the date below. If the change matters, we will tell teachers inside Kashcool before it takes effect.
